Yesterday, the kids and I (and Paige and her girls - Thanks again, Paige!) went to the Hammond, IN Federal Court House (see building above) where Troy was officially sworn in as a Probation Officer. This week he began his new job - a job much, much closer to home and I am downright thrilled about it. What I've been used to, since we moved here, is Troy being away each day from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. I knew that horrendous commute would be part of the deal if we were ever to live anywhere besides Chicago, so I just buckled down and adjusted. We never dreamed that a position would open up (anytime soon, anyway) for Troy in our area.
I had to pinch myself when he got home last night at 5:50 pm - when we were eating dinner at the table as a family! Then get this! We had the kids down by 7:45 pm, I had the kitchen cleaned-up and lunches made by 8:00pm. Troy and I spent a relaxing two hours together before crashing at 10:30 pm. I was not awakened at 5:30 am by my husband's alarm. He doesn't leave the house now until 8:00 am! I'm not kidding, ya'll, I feel like I've won the lottery!
