The theme I assigned myself yesterday was "blue" - blue and white specifically. Some of my favorite photography websites challenge their readers to weekly or monthly photography assignments, or picture prompts. These are a great way to get one's creative juices a flowin' and to demonstrate some of the fantastically distinctive styles within photography. We each have different "eyes," like writers have unique "voices."
Some are quiet - understatedly stunning, others bright and bold. I'm finding it takes practice, a whole lot of it, to develop a personalized approach to capturing images and moments, to telling stories, with a camera. I need that practice. I enjoying practicing, experimenting, learning from my mistakes.
Wouldn't it be fun to practice our photography skills together? Wouldn't it be ever so great to inspire one another with our own personal, visual perspectives on everyday life - on the world around us?
If you are interested in taking part in a weekly photo challenge, leave me a comment or shoot me an e-mail. I'm sure I could figure out a way to add a link attachment to the bottom of my blog post so you could link to your own sites featuring your own photos. Here, I'll even tell you next Friday's theme in advance:
Morning. The theme is, Morning. What do your mornings look like? I know my own mornings are about to get action packed, come August 22nd (school starts at 8:00 am). I'll be snapping away all week and will post the fruits of that labor here in seven days.
Come join me!
